# How can I become a Big Sister?

Big Sisters are volunteers in the community who love giving back ✨ They spend their time welcoming new members, running events and helping ladies to get settled, meet friends and host events.

[Learn more about Big Sisters here!](https://helpdesk.heylady.io/en/article/what-is-a-big-sister-4jlh1t/)

To become a Big Sister, a member needs to be in the community for more than a year and be willing to regularly commit time in the community (we also provide training to support their role)

Whether you’re someone who has grown through *Hey Lady!*, loves connecting with others, and wants to help new members feel at home, we’d love to hear from you! Or you can also nominate someone you think would be a super Big Sister.

Just message our [Community Manager, Xoxo ✨](https://app.heylady.io/user/54eb9ecc-8752-4aa5-9456-ad9778c9def8/info), for more information about the application process.
