# I see a black screen when trying to screenshare. What should I do?

If you can see a black screen when sharing your screen during an event, this is usually caused by a setting in your browser called hardware acceleration. Turning this off should fix the problem.

Follow the steps below for your browser.

**Google Chrome**
1. Open Chrome and click the three dots in the top right corner
2. Select **Settings**
3. Scroll down to the **System** section
4. Turn off **Use hardware acceleration when available**
5. Restart Chrome
6. Rejoin your event and try again

**Firefox**
1. Open Firefox and click the three lines in the top right corner
2. Select **Settings**
3. Scroll down to the **Performance** section
4. Uncheck the box next to **Use hardware acceleration when available**
5. Restart Firefox
6. Rejoin your event and try again
